this album is amazing to me for a few reasons.  It was made by some people from my area and captures the post-industrial malaise of northwest ohio perfectly, this is headphones music for bike rides through polluted landscapes where its too cold to think about anything except your next cigarette and how dead the landscape looks.
Dystopian rage-fllled lyrics about drugs, discontentment, guns and paranoia, cut through the smoggy electronic beats that earn comparisons to artists like dalek, el-p and techno animal. The Producers favor a minimal breakbeat style laced with synth drones and mangled spooky samples. It aint pretty, but its definitely unique and powerful hip hop in an era where too many people fall back on parodies of pop culture and escapist ignorance.

nigmatic skate-gaze project Quarter Pipe released this collection of fuzzed out post punk guitar riffing and loopy programmed drum machine beats via lo-fi tape label sun up recordings. the seven instrumentals on here create a world of blissed out hazy sound that feels strange and welcoming.

Ener y deci suffer and drag(clearing mix)

this Clearing remix is a wall of slow burn haze that combines with video footage of tombstones and young men demolishing a basement to suggest the idea of a world being wrecked by a wall of noise. The clip feels both epic and emotionally intimate in a really intense way  and suggests something very different from the latin pop rhythms of the first ener y deci release, a world of things coming undone.

his release from  Daytime television feels like a loveletter to technology. the tracks are rhythmic and ambient loops that hypnotize the listener with computer generated ear candy and nifty reverb and layered samples . minimal but never boring, worst mixtape world bumps like a dazed out retro soundtrack with catchy beats and psychedelic fuzz.

Michael Jordan Pog- Countdown

Experimental multimedia artist/musician/blogger Jono Mi Lo(the guy behind Dior Nights, Daytime television, Michael Jordan Pog, and worthless waste among other stuff) debuted this abstractly beautiful beyonce remix where the singers vocal vamps bounce, delay and collide into itself in mesmerizing ways. A preview of the split collaborative mixtape with party trash, "countdown" feels right for the new year, creating an atmosphere thats tense but oddly hopeful.
